Fortnitemares returns with the Universal Monsters

Fortnitemares is Epic Games’ annual celebration of all things spooky and scary, and the studio has announced that this year’s October event is bigger than ever, with new content updates set to happen each week in Fortnite.

There are several new and returning Halloween characters, weapons and outfit styles, as well as guest appearances by Universal Studios’ versions of Frankenstein’s Monster and The Mummy, both of which were played by Boris Karloff around 90 years ago.

We expect that before long we’ll see other iconic Universal Monsters like Dracula, The Wolfman and the Creature From The Black Lagoon come to the island. We doubt that we’ll see The Invisible Man, for obvious reasons.

How long will Fortnitemares 2021 last for?

Fortnitemares 2021 will take place between October 5, 2021 and November 1, 2021.

How much is Frankenstein in Fortnite?

Frankenstein’s Monster costs 1,200 V-Bucks and is part of the Universal Monsters set. He has a color style and a black and white style. A back bling, shovel and weapon wrap are all also part of his set.

What is Shortnitemares?

A third Short Nite animated film festival will happen at the end of the month, but unlike previous festivals, all of the shorts will be spooky. For the first time ever, Short Nite will take place in a movie theater created by Quantum Builds in Creative Mode. Each film at the free digital event will have it’s own screening room, which is quite fancy. We’re sure the owners of Risky Reels are devastated.

Towards the end of the month, the Fortnite Battle Royale story will start to advance once again. We hear the sentient cubes are almost ready to continue their plan, and we’re terrified to find out what the alien hexahedrons will do next.
