Dota 2 update 7.30 is finally here, marking a milestone in the game’s history as one of the most important updates leading up to The International 10 this October. The latest Dota 2 update will feature major changes to some of the game’s biggest heroes, with Clinkz, Winter Wyvern, and Tinker seeing the biggest changes.

It goes without saying that the latest Dota 2 update is one of the biggest in recent history. It affects heroes, game modes, and how creeps interact.

We’ll be covering all the main changes that will come to fruition with the recent update:

Dota 2 Game Changes:

Before touching on the changes made to heroes, let’s first discuss some of the changes made to the game itself. Firstly, Valve has replaced the second pick phase in Captain’s Mode with a Dire/Radiant/Radiant/Dire format – over the original Dire/Radiant/Dire (assuming Radian is the first pick).

Furthermore, Dota 2 gamers will experience an un-stackable cooldown percentage reduction. Every Hero with a base HP Regen of Zero will now have it changed to 0.25, and the second Roshan will no longer drop cheese either.

Other general updates include, multiple critical strike procs are now rolled from strongest to weakest, Water Rune healing will be reduced from 80HP to 40HP, and neutral Creeps now drop 5 neutral items per tier.

Dota 2 Item Updates:

Dota 2 players can expect a tonne of item changes for the now live 7.30 update. It will include changes made to the following items:

  • Aeon Disk
  • Abyssal Blade
  • Aether Lens
  • Arcane blink
  • Arcane Boots
  • Bottle
  • Drum of Endurance
  • Enchanted Mango
  • Eul’s Scepter Of Divinity
  • Falcon Blade
  • Gleipnir
  • Helm of The Overlord
  • Hurricane Pike
  • Mage Slayer
  • Rod of Atos
  • Sange
  • Sentry Ward
  • Silver Edge
  • Smoke of Deceit
  • Wind Waker
  • Witch Blade

The Helm Of The Overlord sees some of the biggest changes, with the item equipped with a reworked recipe and requiring Helm Of The Dominator, Vladmir’s Offering, and a 1000 Gold Recipe. Its bonus stats will reduce from 20 to 8, it can only dominate 1 Creep, and Creep’s movement speed will increase from 380 to 400.

Removed Neutral Items

The game will also see several neutral items removed:

  • Faded Broach
  • Ironwood Tree
  • Imp Claw
  • Illusionist’s Cape
  • Minotaur Horn
  • Orb Of Destruction
  • Ballista

Alongside this, gamers will also experience a flurry of new items as well – helping to balance the game’s competitive nature.

  • Pig Pole
  • Tumbler’s Toy
  • Brigand’s Blade
  • Fae Grenade
  • Blast Rig
  • Ascetic’s Cap
  • Witchbane
  • Arcanist’s Armor

Dota 2 Hero Updates:

In an attempt to keep this article to readable levels, we won’t be posting all the changes made to the Dota 2 Heroes – mainly because almost everyone has an update of some shape or description.

In a bold move, Valve has nerfed some of the game’s top-picked heroes from patch 7.29. This will include nerfing Winter Wyvern’s agility gain, Winter’s Curse, Arctic Burn, Cold Embrace, and even changes to four of the Heroe’s talents.

Final Thoughts

Whilst the changes made may end up ruffling a few DOTA 2 fan’s feathers, it’ll be interesting to see how they change the dynamic of the game’s competitive nature.

With so many changes being made, we’ll ultimately see the meta being flipped on its head, with new tactics and strategies being deployed in competitive arenas.
