Alongside Riot’s 10th anniversary blitz, fans of League of Legends got a taste of a new fighting game – Project L. While it’s been rumored for some time now that Riot had been working on a fighting game, there hasn’t been a great deal of information to back up claims. However, latest reveals show that the game is very much in the making, with news on release dates being spilled too.
Amongst general anticipation for the new fighting game, many individuals are already starting to ask the big question – when is the Project L release date. It’s normally the first question on most people’s lips when a new game is revealed, and Project L was no different.
The buzz around this game seems to be building nicely – even in the early stages of development. However, with release dates spanning back to 2023, fans of LOL will have to wait a little while before getting their hands on it.
What is Project L’s release date?
Unfortunately, the short as is not now. Tom Cannon, designer of Project L and co-founder of EVO, states that the game would NOT be released in 2021 or 2022.
The game was officially unveiled on Riot’s 10th anniversary live stream, where Cannon also stated the following regarding the new titles:
“Making fighting games is really, really tough. These are intricate games to make. And while we’re a good ways towards making something that we think is really cool, we still have a long way to go. We’re going to go dark for a while after this, so please don’t expect anything soon.“
