The latest leaks suggest an RTX 3090 Super release date, a RTX 3070 Ti 16GB release date, and a RTX 2060 12GB release date!
Known hardware leaker @hongxing2020 has come out with some big claims regarding not only the RTX 3090 Super release date, which we already knew was on the horizon, but also about the existence of an RTX 3070 Ti 16GB version and, most surprisingly, an RTX 2060 12GB GPU! Read below for the full details.
RTX 3090 Super release date
We already knew about the existence of the RTX 3090 Super thanks to leaks by @kopite7kimi, along with a full raft of other GeForce RTX 3090 Super graphics cards that we have summarised in our RTX 30 Super series specification leaks article. This latest rumor however, give us a suggested release date for the RTX 3090 Super of January 2022. As ever we will have to wait for an official announcement by Nvidia to confirm this.
RTX RTX 3070 Ti 16GB release date
Supposedly releasing at the same time as the other two cards on this page, the RTX 3070 Ti 16GB release date is rumored to be in January 2022. Rumors of the existence of the 16GB version of this GPU have been around since before the initial release of the RTX 3070 Ti 8GB version, though the silence since then led many to wonder if we’d ever actually see one. Higher VRAM on this new version of the RTX 3070 Ti graphics card will assist it when gaming at higher resolutions, and help it handle more advanced textures – in some scenarios it could even compete with the RTX 3080.
RTX 2060 12GB release date
You’d be forgiven for thinking that Nvidia would be done with the 20-series GPUs in early 2022, but it seems not! Perhaps the continuing global graphics card shortage, recently estimated by Lisa Su to be continuing into the middle of 2022, has meant that Nvidia are looking to upgrade their existing silicon stocks and flog them to desperate punters. An RTX 2060 12GB could help fill the fairly vacant niche of lower-end, cheaper GPUs that the Nvidia 30-series and the latest AMD Radeon GPUs both neglected in favor of competing at the higher price points.
It should be noted that the 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM for the new RTX 2060 will be of lower power than the GDDR6X VRAM (note the X) on the 30-series cards, with their higher bandwidth. More GB of anything will still up the power though, perhaps enabling it to compete with the RTX 3050 Ti in some scenarios.
The RTX 2060 12GB release date is rumored to be some time in January 2022, though we have yet to have official confirmation on this from Nvidia.
