Week 28 in review: S22 Ultra with 200MP camera, Nokia XR20, Z Fold3 leak

Welcome to another week’s recap. The top story was that Samsung would team up with Olympus for the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s camera, reportedly a 200MP sensor with a 5-element lens in front of it. The story goes on that the Galaxy S22 Ultra might come in January.

Nokia’s XR20 midranger surfaced in an image, showing the rugged back plate of the phone, dipped in water. The XR20 is coming on July 27 with a 6.67-inch HD+ LCD, 5,000mAh battery and Snapdragon 480 5G chipset.

Xiaomi became the second-largest smartphone vendor in the world in the second quarter of the year, using an 80% growth to outpace Apple for second place. In a related story, the Redmi Note 10T is coming to India on July 20, starting at INR 15,000.

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G surfaced in renders. It will be made official on July 22 with a 6.43-inch 90Hz Super AMOLED, a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera, Dimensity 1200 5G chipset and 4,500mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G continued to feature in the news reel. A TENAA leak confirmed its dimensions, which point to a slimmer 6.4mm frame to the current Galaxy Z Fold2 when the phone is opened. TENAA also confirmed the 4,500mAh battery and the 6.2-inch cover display. The foldable will use the Snapdragon 888 with 12GB of RAM, an ultrawide camera with autofocus and a starting price of between KRW 1,900,000 and KRW 1,999,000 ($1,655 – $1,741) in Korea.
